We threw our 8TH ANNUAL Shark Week Kick Off Party tonight!! Here is a sneak peek of each year to give you ideas for your own parties! We’ve done really little and pretty big!!
Year One!
One of the first years my husband and I started dating, I got us some Shark Week Kick Off themed Snacks!! We thought it’d be a fun date night!! It became a tradition from there on out!!
Year Two!
Another year of just the 2 of us! Just some themed snacks!
Year Three!
This is the year we decided to start the parties!!! We invited some friends over and watched Shark Week while playing cards games!! New expanded Tradition!! You can see I stepped up my themed snacks! 😉 Crabwiches! Ocean Water! Shark Teeth Cheese Triangles! Seashell Pasta! Seaweed Grapes! Land Shark Beer!
Year Four!
We had a newborn for Year Four!! We HAD to get her into it too!! Our little Shark Bait! I will admit I slacked on my themed snacks this year! We had friends over and went swimming in the (non) shark infested pool! 😉 We BBQ’d and played pass the baby!! Everyone wanted to hold her! Gah I miss my tiny chunky newborn!!
Year Five!
I had to step it back up last year!! It was our 5th year && the 30th Anniversary of Shark Week!! Here are all of the details from our party!!
I got the streamers && Shark decals from Party City!
My Sister In Law made these adorable Shark Fin Cupcakes && Shark Cookies!!
Had gummy worms for Shark Bait && Gold Fish are friends NOT food 😉 We had Spinach Dip as Seaweed Dip && Blue Tortilla Chips as Shark Fins!
My Best Friend Rebekah made this Ocean Water! It was Blue Hawaiian Punch & Citrus Sparkling Water mixed!! She added Swedish Fish on the Straws too!! Sip Sip Hooray!!!
Penelope was all decked out too!!
Year 6:
We had a Pool Party at my In Laws NEW (like 1st day ready NEW) pool at their new house!! I mean, look how gorgeous this is!! We BBQ’d, got sunburned, made the most amazing memories!! I love mixing this up each year!! It was laid back this year but ahhhhmazing!! The kids loved pretending there were sharks in the pool!!
My SIL tagged me in this Watermelon Shark post Saturday and said, you need to make this for your party!! SO I DID!!
Year 7:
This year the world was on lock down (2020) so we celebrated quietly and very simple at home with our new baby! We made Jello Shark Snacks to eat while watching the kick off shows!!
Made blue jello, filled half the cup, let it sit, put a gummy fish/shark and fill up again. This helps keep a fish in the middle of the glass! Let it sit again! Would be cute with whipped cream too and another gummy fish/shark on top! Looks like the ocean!
Year 8:
We had to make up for last year! I went all out with the decorations again! We made the Living Room the “Shark Room”! We had Shark Streamers hanging from the ceiling! JAWSOME balloons! Shark plates, Napkins and the cutest Shark Straws!! Shark Party Hats! Decorations were from Target! & Of course, Themed snacks! We had Gold Fish, Lifesavers, Gummy Worms, (spinach and artichoke dip) Seaweed Dip and chips! && Made the cutest Ocean Water Drinks! We mixed Blue Gaterade and Sprite, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, dropped a few gummy fish in and used our Shark Straws! Just look how cute this was!
