Night of Homemade Tamales

I loveee tamales and once I start seeing them on sale, I feel like it’s officially the Holidays!! Every year my husband’s family makes homemade Tamales together! Its one of my favorite traditions to be apart of with them! It’s absolutely amazing everyone standing around the table and helping do different parts, reminiscing on past christmas’ and life in general!

Hubby’s parents KNOW how to make these!! But for little tips and tid bits they called his grandmother! (I am overly sentimental about how cute this is && keeping things passed down to the generations!) I found this recipe from that is very similar to what we did for y’all to try them!!

They made pork tamales, Pork and Jalapeño && chorizo and bean tamales! Their house smelled Ahhhh-mazing during this!! Hubby’s aunt && uncle came over and so did our brother in law and niece && nephews! Everything is a full family affair!! We had Christmas music playing in the kitchen and Christmas movies playing in the living room for the little ones. This has been the perfect way to start the Christmas Weekend off!!

Here is some of the fun in photos:

With my Father-in-law! I promised I’d give him all the credit for the tamales 😜 Here it is sir!

How to make tamales? Step 1: Pour a glass of wine. Step 2: Watch && Drink until they are ready to eat!! {My Shirt is from ThePressBoss!!}

We will eat these on Christmas Eve for our final Advent Brunch && then exchange gifts with the family!!

Do y’all have any fun family traditions and recipes y’all have during Christmas?
